Meet the Team
Our team of coaches and other volunteers is dedicated to ensuring the smooth running of the club and to providing safe, high quality training sessions. They are essential to the work that we do and we couldn't do it without them.
All members of the team who regularly come into contact with players will have had a DBS check. To find out more, please see our [link]Safeguarding Policy.
Leah Seabourne
Chairperson & Coaching Lead
Hi, I'm Leah, the founder and Chairperson of Surrey Goalball; I'm also currently our Coaching Lead.
I started playing goalball in 2022 when I first went to college (RNC Hereford) and quickly found a love for the sport. I would never have called myself a particularly sporty person before, but I suppose being able to participate in such an inclusive and dynamic sport sparked my interest. I attended my first Regional competition in Birmingham in January 2024 which only fuelled my passion for the sport.
Outside of goalball, I have been studying Audio/Music Production and Business and am an aspiring music producer / audio engineer. I'm also a composer and multi-instrumentalist (piano, guitar, and ukulele).
I started SGC because we didn't have any goalball clubs in this area and I wanted to increase the representation of the sport in Surrey. It gives VI people of all ages a chance to engage in a fun, competitive, and (most importantly) inclusive sport. Although I don't have any official sports coaching qualifications, I believe I can draw on my experiences as a player and commitment to developing as a coach to support the growth and skill-building of players.
I have completed the Coaching Blind & Partially Sighted People Course from British Blind Sport and UK Coaching.
Joined SGC: 2025
Qualifications and Certifications: BBS & UK Coaching "Coaching Blind and Partially Sighted People" eLearning Course.
